Open well submersible pumps are used where water levels change often. They can be lowered to the bottom of an open well or sump, which gives them an advantage over traditional centrifugal pumps. Dumex open well pumps have a long service life, and their internal parts are coated to prevent rust. Most bodies are cast iron for excellent durability.
Open well submersible pumps sit fully submerged in the well and are driven by an electric motor. A single-stage pump works like a monoblock centrifugal pump without the suction lift limit. A multistage pump passes water through a series of impellers and diffusers, like a borewell submersible.
Fill the motor with clean drinking water through one drain plug until it overflows from the other, then tighten both plugs. Join the PVC insulated cable to the supply cable and check that the shaft turns freely. Lower the pump on a rope tied to its body and rest it on a flat surface slightly above the bottom of the well or tank.
